Info
Award-winning Irish comedian John O’Keeffe is back with his brand-new show, Surviving Myself. Fresh from a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run in 2025, John is bringing his third solo show and brutally honest humor to Prague at Metro Comedy Club!
In this new show, he’ll be sharing tales of disastrous relationships, awkward therapy sessions, and the constant struggle to love yourself in a world that never stops judging. Luckily having a knack for turning life’s low points into big laughs allows John to dive headfirst into topics like mental health, dating disasters, and the existential dread of trying to get your act together. His comedy is personal, upbeat yet sometimes dark, but always hilarious—self-help meets self-sabotage, and plenty of Irish sarcasm along the way.
In Surviving Myself, John reflects on some of his most awkward moments, including failed attempts at self-improvement, and the occasional existential crisis. With sharp punchlines, relatable stories, and big laughs, as he explores what it means to be your own worst enemy. Whether it’s the weird rituals of modern dating, trying (and failing) to stick to a gym routine, or just surviving the chaos of everyday life, he knows how to turn life’s painful moments into comedy gold.
If you’re a fan of smart, honest comedy with an edge, this is a show you won’t want to miss.
John has established himself as one of the most exciting stand-ups emerging in the Irish comedy scene. Winner of the “Best New Act” Award at the 2019 Bray Comedy Festival, and praised for his likability, comedy writing and stage presence, he has performed with top comedians such as Michelle Wolf, Joanne McNally, David O’Doherty and Neil Delemare. He opened for Steve Hofstetter on his recent 2024 European Tour.
