Event Detail
During this workshop we will explore different body mechanisms - manipulation - of our body in relation with our partner.
By exploring this mechanisms and habits in the human body, we will be able to notice and learn how our body works. How does the attraction and repulsion work on a static object or in motion? With what force I have to act on the body to make it move? What happens when the forces acting on a given element id balanced? What levers must I use to make my partner move to a particular place? Partner’s task will be to help us to understand the mechanisms that work in our body and to find new movement paths.
What will you learn:
🏇🏽Connection with yourself through breath , movement and ILV technic
🤾♂️finding balance, suspension and off balance
🤼being stable with and without motion
⛹🏻simple floor work moves
🤸🏿♀️learning shoulder lift and connection hip and shoulder
🤺how to pivot on the floor and other body- making horizontal cartwheel- on low and high table
🧘🏻♀️integrating learned-material in to improvisation.
Contact improvisation is for me a form of listening at the highest speed and being completely empty – means ready for the unknown. An emptiness from which everything revels and everything is possible. We learn to move together, resonating with everything that is around us. We do not think about what was and will be, but we are in what is – here and now – with all that surrounds us.
The guided workshop will be followed by a free jam, which can be joined independently.
This workshop is part of Pawel's "Fluid Forces" series in Prague. We also invite you to his other workshop:
