How to draw portraits

Ever tried drawing a face and ended up with something that doesn’t look the way you hoped?
This workshop is about changing that, calmly, step by step, using simple teaching techniques that don’t rely on “talent”.

In this 2 hour portrait drawing session, we’ll look at how faces actually work: basic structure, proportions, and how small adjustments can change expression and likeness. No experience needed. If you’ve drawn before, things will start to click. If you haven’t, you’ll finally have a starting point that’s actually interesting.

There’s plenty of time to draw, experiment, ask questions, and get individual feedback. We’ll also take a short break, because drawing faces takes focus and your brain will appreciate it.

We’ll explore
• building a face from simple shapes
• drawing eyes, nose, and mouth in relation to each other
• expression, personality, and finding your own way of drawing faces

The atmosphere is relaxed and supportive, more like asking a friend for advice than taking a formal class. Just focused drawing in good company.
