**An evening with the music of Brendan Coleman**
**Songwriter/Keyboardist Brendan Coleman**

Brendan Coleman came up in the dynamic Minneapolis music scene and became especially involved in World music there, playing with various bands. After studying jazz harmony at Berklee College of Music in Boston, he returned to Minnesota and focused on writing his own music while continuing to play in various reggae, Soca and soukous/Zouk bands.
Touring with Judy Mowatt from ‘Bob Marley & the Wailers’, Brendan performed around the world and performed in Reggae Sunsplash and for Nelson Mandela’s victory tour at a packed LA Coliseum. He has also performed with many well-known reggae and world music artists including Marcia Griffiths (Electric Boogie/‘Bob Marley & the Wailers’), John Holt (Tide is High/The Parragons), Leroy Sibbles (The Heptones), Sister Carol (Married to the Mob), reggae pioneer Owen Gray; soca artisit King Short Shirt; Ethiopian singer Ali Birra; with ‘Funkytown’ singer Cynthia Johnson; jazz singers Debbie Duncan and Gwen Matthews; Pat Matheny and Prince collaborator Mark Ledford; and ‘Sounds of Blackness’ singers Geoff & Chreese Jones.


Brendan Coleman se zrodil na dynamické hudební scéně v Minneapolis, kde se začal angažovat zejména ve World music a působil zde s různými kapelami. Po studiu jazzové harmonie na Berklee College of Music v Bostonu se vrátil do Minnesoty a soustředil se na tvorbu vlastní hudby a zároveň pokračoval v hraní v různých reggae, soca a soukous/zouk kapelách.

V rámci turné s Judy Mowatt z 'Bob Marley & the Wailers' vystupoval Brendan po celém světě. Vystupoval také v Reggae Sunsplash na vítězném turné Nelsona Mandely v zaplněném LA Coliseum.
